Lethbridge Small Business Photoshoot || Choosing the perfect location for your brand shoot isn’t just about aesthetics — it’s about lighting, too. The right space should complement your brand’s vibe and have great natural light to make sure your photos look polished, professional, and on-brand.
Before you settle on a location, ask yourself: What’s the lighting like? If it’s bright and even, you’re good to go. Next, consider if the space’s aesthetic aligns with your brand. If you’re brand vibe is dark and moody, you’re not going to want an all-white location. The same can be said for the opposite. If you’re brand is light and airy, you won’t want a location full of black walls and polished concrete.
Need some location ideas? Here are five:
Having your photos taken in your own space is a natural choice — it’s most authentic in how it reflects your brand. Whether it’s a home office, studio, or co-working space, just make sure there’s plenty of natural light. Facing a window? Perfect. Working in a dimly lit basement? Maybe not ideal.
It’s also important to note that if your current workspace does not reflect your brand, that’s okay! There are plenty of other options for your Lethbridge small business photoshoot that will bring your vision to life.
Want a fresh space that isn’t yours? AirBnbs or your friend’s home can be an amazing option, offering unique and curated interiors. Look for a space with big windows and decor that suits your brand. Bonus: You can choose an Airbnb that fits your brand’s aesthetic perfectly. Using a home is the perfect solution for home organizers, interior decorators, Realtors, life and nutrition coaches, etc.
Lethbridge has some fantastic AirBnb options. Like THIS luxury loft with white walls, a gorgeous kitchen, and beautiful dark accents. Or THIS mid-century modern home that’s professionally decorated with beautiful pops of colour.
Showhomes are designed to impress, which makes them a dream for brand shoots! They often have pristine interiors, modern decor, and great lighting — everything you need for high-end, polished brand photos.
If your brand has a lifestyle element, shooting in a local shop, boutique or coffee shop can add personality and context to your brand imagery.
If part of your brand is meeting clients over coffee, working remotely, or having a relaxed, approachable vibe, a bright, well-lit coffee shop can be a great option. Look for one with large windows and a clean, uncluttered background to keep the focus on you.
Professional studios are made for photography, which means perfect lighting and a variety of backdrop options. The Gallery Studio in Calgary is one of my favourites! Even though it comes with a drive, I promise it’s worth it! It has bright, even lighting and a wide variety of backdrops and furniture options, allowing us to create sets that are perfectly curated for your brand.
When in doubt, opt for a location with tons of natural light and a neutral, well-designed setting. And if you’re unsure, I’m happy to help find the perfect spot for your shoot!
